Chantelle Silva De Abreu is a registered counselor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and a mental skills coach, working both with individuals and groups across sports and other settings. Chantelle completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology, Physiology, and Biochemistry at the University of Cape Town. She then completed her Psychology Honours at the University of Cape Town where she is currently completing her Masters in Psychology. Chantelle obtained membership to the Golden Key International Honour Society as well as being part of the University’s Dean List throughout her academic career. Chantelle is also an affiliate member of the American Psychological Association.
Chantelle has received training and experience through working across various settings throughout Cape Town. She is part of a team providing weekly playgroups for the children at Maitland Children’s Hospital. Chantelle also provided weekly individual counseling sessions for the women involved in the NGO Embrace Dignity. Chantelle currently works as a counselor in football academies in South Africa and in a small private counseling practice. Her research is currently focused on health behaviour change and women’s health in South Africa. Chantelle also provides tailor-made coaching sessions that focus on a range of topics from emotional intelligence, psychological empowerment, and health and stress management.
